I am a celebrant with a reputation for kindness, creativity and with an insistence on quality!

After many years in primary education, working as a teacher and headteacher, I took early retirement, trained as a celebrant and am thoroughly enjoying my career. I have qualifications in leadership and management alongside my teaching qualifications and have organised public speaking events for many years. I have also had my voice trained for singing and public speaking so am confident in delivering the words of your ceremony using intonation, enthusiasm and passion.

With a degree specialising in Religious Education, I also advise schools on multi-faith education, equality and diversity. It is part of my values to celebrate our richness of culture and tradition and I believe that every ceremony honours our individual uniqueness as well as the collective identity within a family.

I value this profession and work hard because I enjoy crafting beautiful ceremonies which have meaning. I will get to know you and your family, so that the ceremonies I create reflect your wishes and values. I often feel that I leave at the end of a ceremony with a new set of friends.

It is so important to find the right words to celebrate the most important attributes of you and your relationship or the life of the loved one we gather to remember. I choose to write a ceremony where readings and music link with the narrative of the love story, the joy in a new life or the celebration of a life of a loved one. This makes for a heartfelt ceremony, beautiful in its content and lasting in the memories of those who are present. It really matters to celebrate life and love because love is all any of us needs in life.

I have learned how to craft on fabric using batik so I chose to paint my values onto silk for my logo. The dove is symbolic of peace and new beginnings. It carries a cosmos flower which signifies joy, love and life. I chose these images and encircled them in gold because true love is also precious and never ends.

Silk painting and batik might be something you would like to discuss with me further. We can use this medium to create a long lasting memento of your special day - such as a unique fabric for hand-fasting or you might request a silk to decorate a book of memorial. Silk is a beautiful and natural material which is very much like the love and affection we have for one another.
